This is the famous centuries old Banyan Tree (Ficus) at Son Tra Vietnam

The Banyan Tree (Ficus) located on The Son Tra Peninsula it is said to be over 800 years old, 22 meters in high with trunk and aerial circumference of 85 meters.

The Quang Nam- Da Nang Self Defense Militias and commandos choose the location of the trees as a revolutionary base during 2 wars against foreign invaders.

The tree is located in Tho Quang Ward about 30 minutes from Danang City, overlooking lush vegetation and sea. The area is home to numerous monkeys, birds and other wildlife.

Have a picnic among the roots of the centuries old Banyan Tree

There are a few benches nestled between the root clusters of the grand old Banyan Tree, from there you can be one with nature while enjoying the picturesque view of the Son Tra Peninsula, the Cham Islands and beyond.

Note: Fresh jelly coconut, water and other cold beverages are on sale at the security station on the road under the sprawling branches of the old Banyan Tree.
